HISTORY

Supplied new by Kenning Chesterfield in April 1999 to its first owner who had it for one year as a company car from the bus company Arriva (the rear window sticker is still present). The second owner was an elderly chap who had the car until 2020 when it was advertised in the Viking Rover club magazine and purchased by the next Rover fanatic owner. He only sold the car to us to buy our 5,000 mile 420Si we had for sale a few years ago. The current owner purchased the car from us in October 2022. We have evidence of 6 services the last in July 2023 at 35,900 miles. The cambelt was changed in July 2020 at 33,400 miles. The car has new Dunlop tyres all-round, and in 2021 had a new silencer, discs and pads all-round, gearbox oil, brake fluid and front anti-roll bar bushes. Recent spend includes a new expansion tank and coolant pipes, re-coded keys (a common issue) and genuine Rover thermostat. the MOT is valid until July 2025 with no advisories and the online MOT history is outstanding.

SPECIFICATION

Nightfire red with grey cloth, 2.0 litre 16v T-serise engine, automatic air conditioning (cold), 4x Rover 400 branded floor mats, electric front windows, twin tone horns, boot lid release, burr walnut fascia and door inserts, pollen filter, ABS, drivers airbag, split folding rear seats, remote central door locking, alarm system, 3 spoke steering wheel with radio remote controls, power steering, four speakers, Rover branded radio cassette (dealer fit).

CONDITION

In outstanding condition throughout with no dents or scratches, stonechips or marks on the bodywork or bumpers and the wheel trims are completely unmarked. The interior is beautiful with no rips, tears or marks on the seats, even the drivers bolster is unmarked as are the Rover mats. The roof lining is not perfect, but very good and original. There is no rust anywhere on the car and the headlamps are crystal clear. New Dunlop tyres all-round with plenty of tread. Under the bonnet presents as-new as does the boot area, and under the car matches the top. We have a book pack with the car and a folder full of history, a clear Motor Check and we have two working keys. An exceptional example.
